World Internet Mega Summit 07

Sunday, June 3rd, 2007

Amazing 4 days events that brings together the world’s top Internet marketers.

I’ve heard Mark Joyner spoke for the first time in Singapore, it was quite unusual presentations that Mark gave.

For like a whole three minutes in the beginning, the presentations were just silent power points slides with background music.

But it was unusual from the rest of the presentations,as it was delivered in two parts.

I attended part one which was on the second day.

he presented an interesting view of the Internet marketers today compared to marketers decades ago.

I felt the message contained was to balance the need to market and upholding the ethical practice of doing it.
Many a times, we were guilty of polluting the Internet space like forums, blogs and etc.

an interesting observation was at the JV table outside the hall, it does shows that more and more people are getting onto the Internet marketing bandwagon evident from the number of flyers promoting Internet marketing coaching courses.

The first day, the table was well manageable with reasonable space for promoting your products or services. It gets more and more congested each day I guess from the attendees who made last-minute decisions to print their own flyers regardless of relevancy. Well, but that made the whole JV table looks more interesting and add characters to it.

When the speakers started promoting the product and coaching programs, people were again asking around to team up to sign or purchase packages together.

J. Abraham package looks enticing, but boils down to taking action!

To people who were coming in to Internet marketing fresh, a coaching program would definitely help to cut short the learning curve and attain result fast. For people who were already in some form of coaching program, the best they can to is to follow through what they have started and make it work. I fall into the second category, hence I hold on to my wallet tight and get some updates from the four days on the happenings of Internet marketing. After that it’s back to work on my existing website and increase the sales that is coming in.

UYMG Singapore 2007

Saturday, April 7th, 2007

Awesome Internet Marketing Event by Stephen Pierce at the 4 days UYMG.
Unleash Your Marketing Genius…

As a Crew, I got the chance to assist and guide many attendees on overcoming their technical challenges on their Internet Marketing journey.

Heres a short video clip from the UYMG event. enjoy

One biggest glitch encountered at UYMG was the wireless internet connection problem that prevented attendees going online all at the same time. We end up rationing the internet access by requesting the participants work in groups of 3, effectively cutting down the nos of connection to one-third of the full head counts of 300+ attendees.

How The Internet Marketing Puzzle Caught Me

Friday, March 9th, 2007

I still remember the first Internet Marketing related event that I’ve attended…

The year was 2006, an interesting advertisement in the Straits Time got me curious enough to register for a free 90 minutes workshop on internet marketing. That was a quarter page advertisement.. As if it knew us too well that the very word Free would generate some attention for most people. It threw in an over-whelming offer that make me read through the fine print to see where they hid the catch..

Nope, to my disappointment there was none that I spotted. It was true, free preview, free dinner, free door gift..

I saw that ads a year ago in 2005 but didn’t really thought much about it..

But this time I have to see it for myself.

It was an eye and mouth opener, yep the presentation went on as usual painting the potential of realizing your financial dream on the cyberspace with ecommerce.

Reminded you of how you are dragging yourself to work everyday, your job insecurity and how nice it would be if you can work anywhere, anytime and however you choose. It’s the ultimate internet lifestyle. Your laptop is your atm machine.

Hey, that makes sense..

Excited, I went to more internet marketing previews.. and they all seems to sing the same song!
And they are all very expensive (to me, cos prices are relative - haven’t you realize?)
And they are all selling you the dream,
But they all seems to make you think that they hold the secret to your dream!
The key is with them, without it your door remains locked and the “Secrets” eludes you.

So the fastest way to get the key is to surrender your wallet with wide open eyes and wait for the day when the truth will be delivered to you.

The twist ends here..

I did get the picture.. after a few months of research, purchase of information, sharing and asking around.
But I did not get the full complete picture.. what I got was 2 pieces of the internet puzzle that I could join together.

And I’m glad I did, cos I joined that 2 pieces together and went to work without complete knowledge.
Good thing I’m a web designer and developer, the technical part was a piece of cheese cake for me.

I’d say I have learnt more from doing based on the little knowledge I have then. The important thing is I got started..

Coming up next…

What was the first 2 pieces of the internet marketing puzzle?
